Bevan was a senior utility engineer at Energex for over 30 years where he led a number of R&D projects and managed a number of units across the organisation (e.g. IT Planning, Infrastructure Planning, Network Strategy and Network Performance Reporting) to attain broad technical and commercial experience of the industry. Bevan is a seed capital founding investor in the company.

Bevan also spent two years working with utilities in the USA as part of his Doctorate degree so he has a good understanding of the USA utility technical architecture and the industry.

Bevan is on one Standards Australia committees and chairperson of two sub-committees.

In addition Bevan was founding chairman of the Microelectronics Industrial Affiliates Advisory Committee at Griffith University from 1989 to 1996. The committee was formed to establish a new microelectronic engineering course.
